Hi, I’m Eshe

I’m dedicated to finding creative solutions to social problems, big and small. I use research and analytical tools and methods to support communities, teach students, and work with women from the African diaspora. I am driven by a deep desire to learn, share, and grow in tandem with others.

My Expertise

I love to conduct research that benefits and uplifts Black and Afro-descendant women and communities in Latin America and the Caribbean and incorporates their needs into policies and plans to ensure they can live dignified and peaceful lives. I have learned that the best way to pinpoint important issues is by coupling my skills as a researcher and anthropologist and past work experience with the expertise of the people I work with. I enjoy working with large and small teams as much as I appreciate tackling individual challenges.

I am most passionate about feminist initiatives and organizing, community-based research, women’s rights, social justice activism, inter-generational work, and ancestral knowledge. I also aspire to work in conjunction with Afro-descendant communities to help record and share their histories and current realities in order to preserve a record of the past, and help secure funding for development, human rights, and gender work.
